Upscaling
Increasing an image's resolution using AI that invents plausible detail — sharpening edges, refining textures, reconstructing faces — rather than just stretching pixels like traditional resizing. Modern upscalers turn a 1024px generation into crisp 4K output ready for print or large screens. It is the standard last step in a professional workflow: generate at the model's native resolution, pick the winner, and upscale once at the end (not every draft — it costs tokens). Example: a 2x or 4x upscale on VAR2 makes an AI portrait usable as a full-size poster.
